The relationship between sea breeze and the thunderstorms occurred in Taipei basin

Abstract

　　As we are a sea-land country. Sea breeze becomes a very important factor on weather predictions. Durring the summer time. We can frequently find sea breeze in Taipei basin, almost every afternoon. Sometimes it brings thunderstorms and sometimes it doesn’t. Therefore, our mainly purpose of this study is to find what’s the relationship between the sea breeze and thunderstorms in this area. And just how they interacted to eachother.

　　In this article. We use the statistic method and ten years’ data (1967-1976).We can reasonably explain the relationship between the two factors, and mean while we may using it to forecast the occurrence of the thunderstorms in Taipei basin.
