A Study on Thunderstorm Forecasting in Taiwan

　　This paper is a review of the author’s experience in forecasting thunderstorms and the classification of the synoptic patterns when organized thunderstorm activity occurred during the tten year period from 1961 to 1970. In addition, by statistically utilizing the Teoyuan sounding data and thunderstorm observations by CAA Weather Station at Sungshan International Airport in the past ten years, the author devised an objective approach to forecasting air-mass thunderstorms in the Taipei area, that he hopes may give a reference to thunderstorm forecasting.
