Climatology of Typhoon Weather Conditions for Taipei

during the Winter Season

Abstract

　　This paper deals with the weather conditions in Taipei during the winter months when they are under the influence of typhoon circulations. The objective diagrams for forecasting daily rainfall, wind force, and sky condition have been worked out. Based on these diagrams it is found that in October and November the weather conditions in Taipei are greatly influenced by typhoon circulations; while in December, the situation is completely different. In addition, the outer boundary of typhoon tracks for each winter month is prepared in  accordance with typhoon climatological data from 1952 to 1971. The characteristics of winter typhoons are also briefly discussed.
