Weather Forecasting in the Tainan Area

　　The author, with his many years of experience as a senior forecaster at Taiwan Air Base, makes a statistical study and classification of the various problems in weather forecasting in the Tainan area that may be anticipated by the meteorologists.
　　Taiwan is located on the west coast in southern Taiwan. The spring and autumn seasons span a comparatively shcrt period of time, while the summer and winter seasons are substantially longer.
　　In this paper, important weather features and generalized synoptic patterns and associated weather changes that may be expected under centain synoptic situations are briefly discussed. The author hopes his study will give the junior forecasters some general idea in improved forecasting for the Tainan area.
