The Relationship between Wind Velocity Distribution over Taiwan and the Typhoon Positions

Abstract

　　In order to find the relationship between wind velocity distribuiion over Taiwan area and the position of Typhoons a dynamical model was established through correlation analysis of thirteen years data. The theoretical velocity computed by the model, than, is related to the observed velocity through a non-linear regression equation. This two-step objective method can be used to forecast the wind velocity for each major station of Taiwan. The verification is also presented.
