The Inflence of the Tropical Cyclones-Polar Highs Combined Circulation on the Weather over Taiwan

Abstract

　　The combined circulation of Tropical Cyclones and Polar Highs is an important factor which influences the weather over Taiwan during the period of September to November. In this paper 37 cases are selected from the past 21 (1955—1976) years and studied on the synoptic point of view. Our findings reveal that combined circulation not only reinforces the wind velocity but also contributes to the distribution of heavy rain over Taiwan. Some case studies are also presented.
