Zonal Harmonics And its Application to Meteorological Elements Representation

Abstract

A general description of zonal harmonics are presented in this introductory paper. The purpose of it is to review the characteristics of that polyonomial. After that, the annual mean temperature and the precipitation amount for each ten degrees of latitude are represented by the zonal harmonics. The results are good enough to show their characteristic features.
