A General Discussion of Typhoons in the Northwest Pacific Area in 1977

Abstract

　　There were 19 Typhoons occurred in the Northwest Pacific area in 1977. Among them, Thelma (072), Vera (073), Amy (081) and Dinah (093) influenced Taiwan, and all had irregular paths. And, in which, Thelma and Vera hit the south and the north of Taiwan, separately, causing the most severe damage to Taiwan in the last eighty years.

　　In this report, except the general discussion, we put emphasis on the typhoons Which had special tracks and life histories. Some statistical results are also presented.
